Casual Gamer Lounge is a one-man-show brought to life by a man who leads a normal married life, works a regular 9-5 job, goes to a technical college, and has a deep passion for video games. I have always wanted to share my experiences, opinions, and knowledge of video games and many other topics, but as everyone knows, some people don’t care to here my nerdy rambling or “tell us more about the war, grandpa” kind of stories. So why not put it all out there for the world to see? I am not overly-sensitive to any opinions or feedback and will share my thoughts as I please through a medium I feel comfortable with.
A little bit about me: I’m 22 years old, I’m happily married, I own two cats, and I work for a construction company as a project coordinator. That’s scratching the surface. I spend a lot of my free time with my wife, whether we’re going out or just vegging out on the couch watching crime TV documentaries. We’re pretty opposite of each other, but we both agree that it’s what makes us perfect for each other. We are always cracking jokes and laughing our heads off when we’re together, which is my favorite part about our marriage. Humor goes a long way with me, and she has that personality and is so witty that makes me love her more and more.
I’ve had quite a few different jobs doing very different things, from my current job in the street light construction industry to call center work to retail management to stock boy at a grocery store. It’s helped me realize that I have a lot of respect for those who work customer service, because I had a hard time dealing with snotty people (primarily at the call centers). Seriously, huge props to anyone who deals with customers 40 hours a week; you’re my hero. But I’ve settled down with my current position, which includes organizing street light installations in cities, surveying new subdivisions for street light locations, and even doing some office work by putting new street lights onto the main map for the local power company. It sounds boring, I know, but it keeps me busy and I am constantly learning new things every day.
My hobbies include a lot of gaming or gaming related activities (surprise surprise) such as reading game reviews, researching new releases, finding the hottest games out and figuring out why they’re so popular, watching videos of streams and news reports from other major gaming news outlets, and scoping out deals for games I’ve had my eye on or for friends who might be interested. I also play kendama almost every day just so I keep a bit of activity in my day. I love listening to music and my go-to podcast the CAGCast. I also like looking into different topics on the internet that I otherwise might not have been interested in, usually through the popular feed on Reddit. And of course I like to mindlessly scroll through Facebook and Instagram like a good portion of the world’s population.
Like I said, nothing too extravagant but I do have a mind that’s constantly racing and dying to be expressing itself, and I would love to share it with anyone and everyone. Please, feel free to contact me and I’m more than happy to chat it up.
